Tucson Audubon Society: Happy Hour Birding at Arizona National Golf Course Field Trip
Trip difficulty: Easy, We will be strolling on sidewalks around the golf clubhouse but not on the golf course.
We will meet out front of the clubhouse and start by checking the back patio overlooking the pond for the aquatic birds. Typically we see American wigeon, Great Egret, Ring-necked duck and Pied-billed grebe on or around the pond. Then we will check the neighboring washes from the sidewalk for the desert species. We can typically see about 20 species in an hour of birding.
If anyone would like to order a drink or a snack on the patio, we can do that first as the clubhouse closes at 5:00 pm .
The Grill at Arizona National is open to the public, you just tell the guard at the gate that you are going to the Grill and they will give you a special pass to park in the Grill parking lot.
Limited to 10 participants.
