Tucson Audubon Society: Canyons of the Huachuca Mountains

Join Ken Blankenship and Allee Forsberg of East West Birding Tours and explore world-class birding hotspots in the Huachuca Mountains southeast of Tucson!
Based on real-time reports, destinations may include Ramsey Canyon Preserve, Beatty’s Guest Ranch, and Ash Canyon Bird Sanctuary. Target Species: Hummingbirds! Rivoli’s, White-eared, Violet-crowned, Broad-billed, Broad-tailed, Black-chinned, Anna’s, Rufous, and Calliope are all possible! Also… Sulphur-bellied Flycatcher, Painted Redstart, Lazuli Bunting, Mexican Jay, Acorn/Arizona/Gila/Ladder-backed Woodpeckers, Dusky-capped Flycatcher, Plumbeous Vireo, Elegant Trogon, Black-throated Gray Warbler, Hutton’s Vireo, and much more! Drive time to meeting location (parking lot behind-west side of-McDonald’s at Exit 302 on I-10, east of Tucson) from festival venue is about 40 minutes, with another 45-50 minute driving to birding locations. Specific meeting instructions will be emailed beforehand. Limited to 6 participants.
All Van Trips depart from the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at Reid Park.
A packed lunch, snacks, and drinking water are provided on full-day field trips. A light snack and drinking water are provided on half-day field trips.
