Tucson Audubon Society: Birding & Canvassing with Environmental Voter Project

Join us at Lakeside Park for a joyful morning of birding and non-partisan canvassing reaching out to registered voters who care deeply about the environment and climate change but need some encouragement to get out and vote.

Meet up with your fellow EVP volunteers to mobilize low propensity environmental voters in Tucson to vote in their upcoming elections! This extra special canvass will include optional pre-canvass birding led by our partners at the Tucson Audubon Society.  Your Volunteer Leader will provide a full training on how to canvass using the MiniVAN canvassing app, walk lists of target voters, an informative script, and lit cards for you to provide to each voter. All you need to bring is a smartphone or tablet to use the app on, comfortable walking shoes, water, sun protection, and yourself! Long-time and first-time canvassers are all welcome. Here’s a breakdown of the schedule:

  • [Optional] 7-8:30am: Birding with Tucson Audubon. Experienced and first-time birders are welcome!
  • 8:30-9am: Welcome & training from EVP
  • 9-10:45am: Door-to-door canvassing of low propensity environmental voters
  • 10:45-11am: Travel back to the meet-up location
  • 11am: Materials drop off & wrap up

We look forward to seeing you there!
