Town of Gilbert: Riparian Field Class – Habitats of Arizona (#30762)

The Field Class Series will explore scientific topics through engaging activities set in the Riparian Preserve. Classes will take place on the third Wednesday of each month October- April, except December when the class will occur on the first Wednesday (12/7/22).

Arizona hosts a wide variety of habitats. From deserts and grasslands to riparian and woodlands, our state has a little bit of just about everything. These habitats make Arizona one of the most biodiverse states in the country. This program will explore the ecological, geological, and geographic contributors to the variety of habitats and living things in Arizona. Participants will make and take their own color coded biome map of Arizona.

All classes will take place outdoors. Please bring water, wear a hat, close-toed shoes, and dress for the weather. Parents are welcome to attend, but not required. Materials will only be provided for registered participants.
