Town of Gilbert: Great Gilbert Campout
Get ready to camp under the stars at the Riparian Preserve with the Town of Gilbert Parks & Recreation! Pack up the family and join us for an overnight camping adventure Friday, October 17th to Saturday, October 18th. This camping event will feature activities for all ages including fishing, hiking, camping-themed games and crafts, and of course, s’mores!
Families will bring their own camping gear & provisions, and we will provide the fun! Dinner will not be provided but Famous Chicago Dogs will be on site with meals and snacks available for purchase. Light refreshments will be available the following morning.

Itinerary
Friday, October 17
- 4:00pm-5:00 pm: Check in/Camp set up
- 5:00pm-5:30 pm: Family Picnic (Bring your own, or purchase from Famous Chicago Dogs)
- 5:30-7:30 pm: Crafts and Activities
- 7:30pm-8:30 pm: Night Hike and S’mores
- 8:30pm-10:00 pm: Stargazing in Observatory and Games
- 10:00 pm: Lights Out
Saturday, October 18
- 7:00am-7:30 am: Light Breakfast (Provided by Gilbert Parks & Rec)
- 7:30-9:30 am: Fishing and Birdwatching Hikes (Please Note: A Fishing License is required for anyone over the age of 10. Licenses can be purchased online from AZGFD.)
- 9:30-10:00 am: Cleanup/check out

Suggested Equipment
- Tent (Tent must fit within assigned 20’x20′ campsite on the grass)
- Sleeping bag(s) and/or blankets
- Air mattress or camping pad
- Pillow(s)
- Weather appropriate change of clothes

Additional Info
- Each family will be assigned a 20’x20′ campsite (5 people per site).
- Registration is per campsite, register one adult per campsite.
- One tent allowed per campsite. Tent must fit within the 20’x20′ assigned space.
- All campsites must be packed up by 10:00 am on Saturday, October 18th.
- All children under 18 must have a responsible adult present during the entire event.
- A Gilbert Staff Member will be on site at all time
