The University of Arizona: Writing in Mathematics Grades 1-5 Part 1

How can we improve students’ mathematics and writing at the same time? How can we help mathematics appeal to a budding author, or help writing appeal to a budding data scientist? Writing in mathematics should benefit both writing and mathematics understanding, while also being purposeful and intentional. Come and explore the purposes for writing in mathematics, useful formats, and many ways that we can write in the elementary mathematics classroom. This is a two-part workshop, and therefore, we will prioritize registrants that can attend BOTH sessions. This is a level 2 workshop, allowing teachers that have had experience with IMPACTS sessions to dig deeper.
