Southwest Wings Summer Festival: W2 Garden Canyon Field Trip

Join professional guide Ken Blankenship on a full day exploring Garden Canyon, hidden within Fort Huachuca. We will explore a variety of habitats including foothill grasslands, sycamore-lined canyon woodland, and pine forest. We will search for regional and mountain specialties such as Elegant Trogon, Arizona Woodpecker, Sulphur-bellied, Buff-breasted and Dusky-capped Flycatchers, Plumbeous Vireo, Painted Redstart, Grace’s Warbler and Hepatic Tanager. Access to Upper Garden Canyon may be restricted, and a two-mile hike is to be expected.  Bring hat, sun protection and walking shoes. Meeting place: The south-east entrance of The Mall at Sierra Vista, 2200 El Mercado Loop, Sierra Vista. Turn west onto Calle Marcancia from Highway 92, by the Wells Fargo bank, and the entrance is straight ahead. Map link
