Pinal County Library District: 3D Printing – Intro and Demonstration
Participants will get the chance to learn about general 3D printing concepts including how it works, 3D software options, and see a 3D printer build a model in real-time.
3D Printing has been around for some years, but has only recently exploded into the mainstream with a variety of resources and options for business, organizations, artists, and even the tech-loving hobbyist. This program is open to everyone from beginners who just want a taste of the technology, to experts who are looking to connect more with others who are passionate about the craft of additive manufacturing.
This fundamental introduction session will cover:
1. What 3D Printing is.
2. What 3D Printing can be used for.
3. What 3D printing options are out there including free software to get started immediately.
4. See a Makerbot Replicator 2 (Desktop 3D Printer) build a model in real-time.
Participants will get handouts throughout the program and a model printed by the 3D printer to keep.
