Phoenix Public Library: Daytime Astronomy – Solar Telescopes

The Sun is a bright ball of plasma that we cannot directly view. We normally accept it as being part of our daily life and do not think about how the Sun changes. The Sun has an 11 year solar cycle that goes from almost no sunspots to many sunspots and flares. The Sun is currently close to maximum activity so it is a great time to view the Sun.

The West Valley Astronomy Club will bring several telescopes designed to safely view the sun and see various surface details.
