Natural History Institute: A SPRING WALK IN THE SONORAN DESERT WITH LIZ MAKINGS

Join Liz Makings, collections manager of the Arizona State University Vascular Plant Herbarium, for a field workshop focused on the annual plants of the Sonoran Desert.

Liz will explain the details of some important desert flowers with the help of a hand lens (strongly recommended) and guide participants in the basics of recognizable field characters and plant identification. With a little luck and some precipitation, the group could be dazzled with a rare desert bloom. Even without the bloom, there are always natural wonders to explore. Register Here
