National Trails Day, Saturday June 03: Guided Walk with Superintendent Matt Carroll

All are invited to join the Park Superintendent-led hike on National Trails Day, Saturday June 3rd at Coronado National Memorial!

Along the hike we’ll learn about and discuss the history of Coronado National Memorial, why it’s located in this area of southern Arizona, and visit Monument 102 on the International border. A hike for everyone!

Meet in front of the Coronado National Memorial Visitor Center:
4101 E Montezuma Canyon Road
Hereford, AZ 85615

8:15 am- Visitors: Meet at Visitor Center
8:30 am- Park Shuttle Departure from Coronado VC
8:45 am- All meet at Montezuma Trailhead for hike departure
– Visitors may use the Park Shuttle for roundtrip, pick up at VC at 0815
– Visitors may use their Personal Vehicles and meet at the Motezuma trailhead at 0845

4-mile walk (roundtrip total) out and back hike along the Arizona National Scenic Trail from Montezuma Pass overlook to the International border with Mexico.

This is a moderate to difficult hike due to sun exposure and elevation changes, and will be walked at a slow to moderate pace. Please dress appropriately for a warm hike and bring plenty of water and snacks.
