McDowell Sonoran Conservancy: Magma’s Last Gasp

Lecture- Magma’s Last Gasp at Mustang Library or Virtual

All the granite mountains in the northeast Valley and the northern Preserve were formed as molten rock cooled and solidified deep underground. But sometimes cooling magma produces weird and wonderful things like huge pink crystals and giant milky quartz outcrops. Come to see and learn about some of the unique geology discovered by volunteers in a McDowell Sonoran Conservancy science project.
