Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: World Storytelling Day

Join Ranger Kevin for a fun, family-oriented program at the Lake Pleasant Amphitheater.

We’ll be reading stories of the people of each continent as we “travel around the world” in celebration of World Storytelling Day! We will be walking the Roadrunner Trail, pausing along the way at our Day Use areas to visit another continent and listen to another story. The walk is easy, although not barrier-free, and less than one mile total. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring water. We’ll meet at the Amphitheater near the Discovery Center. Enter the park at the Main Entry station, and park at the Discovery Center lot. If you arrive early, there is a nature-themed playground for the kids to explore while you wait. Bathrooms are available at the Bobcat and Ringtail Day Use Areas. NO pets, please.

Limit 30 participants. To register, please email Ranger Kevin at kevin.thorson@maricopa.gov. Please indicate that you’d like to register for the World Storytelling Day program, provide your name, phone number and total number of participants. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 3/18/23.
