Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Silent Walking – A Beginner’s Guide to Connecting with Nature
Mindfulness seems like a buzzword these days and maybe meditation isn’t just for monks and hippies, or maybe it is. Curious? Ranger Shaun’s noticed people seem less embarrassed to ask questions outside. So, let’s take a walk, talk about things, and maybe you can decide if it’s something you’d like to do after all! This 3.5-mile, medium difficulty hike down the Scenic trail is expected to take about 4 hours and will involve stops along the way to both discuss and practice mindfulness exercises. Please dress appropriately with closed toed shoes and layers as the temperature may change rapidly on the trail. Bring plenty of water. Many people also find a snack, small towel for sitting on, and hat or sunglasses useful. No pets please.
MEETING LOCATION: Trailhead Staging Area Limit 10 participants.
