Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Scorpion Hike
The hike is rated as easy and will cover 3 miles along the Slate trail. Except only a few small uphill sections when walking through washes and a few areas that have loose rock. If you have balance difficulties hiking poles can be beneficial. Because we are hiking at night, please make sure everyone in your group has a flashlight and a full charge or extra batteries. If you have a blacklight feel free to bring it along. Please bring plenty of water with you for the hike.
PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The Maricopa County Parks website (www.maricopa.gov/parks) is the most accurate resource for verifying the program’s current status. Please check the program listing online or call the Nature Center before coming to the park.
