Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Saguaros in Sunset
Ranger Olivia leads this picturesque hike to watch the sun set while also learning about saguaros along the way. We will see the sunset, saguaros, and maybe some evening critters as well. You may bring your blacklight and regular flashlight to look for evening critters (optional). The route uses Beardsley trail; the terrain is mostly smooth/level. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. There are NO restrooms or water at the trailhead so please plan accordingly.
MEETING LOCATION: Beardsley Trailhead This Trailhead is located before the main entrance to Lake Pleasant Regional Park and there will not be a contact station, so please bring $7 exact change for the Iron Ranger. Maricopa Trail Trailhead in any GPS app will bring you to the correct meeting location.
Limit 15 participants. To register, please email Ranger Olivia at Olivia.holderness@maricopa.gov with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 02/04/25.
