Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Plant Hike

Ranger Nikki will lead you on a moderate terrain hike to learn about common desert plants such as cacti, legume trees and shrubs and search for signs of seasonal wildflower growth. The route uses Slate, a portion of Flume, Quartz and Go John Trails for approximately 4.5 miles total. The terrain varies from even surfaces to portions that are uneven and rocky. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring snacks and plenty of water. Hiking poles are helpful. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center and Trailhead.

MEETING LOCATION: Slate Trailhead on Tonalite Drive.

Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Cave Creek Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number and number of people attending.
