Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Plant Hike

Join Ranger Nikki on an easy-to-moderate terrain hike to learn about desert plants, shrubs and legume trees including bursage, palo verde and creosote. The route uses Verde, Chuparosa and North to make a 4.5-mile loop. The terrain is mostly flat and even. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring water, a hat and sunscreen. Restrooms and water are available at the Trailhead and at the Nature Center along the way.

MEETING LOCATION: North Trail Trailhead. Please allow 10 minutes to drive from the entry booth to this trailhead at the northeast corner of the park.

Limit 20 participants. To register, please email Ranger Nikki at nikki.bunnell@maricopa.gov with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email the Ranger ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on Thursday, December 7.
