Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Pemberton Pond Hike – Echoes of the Past
Step back in time on a journey through McDowell Mountain Regional Park as we explore the history of Pemberton Pond and beyond. This 3-mile roundtrip (out and back) hike, set on mostly level yet rocky terrain, will lead you to the remnants of a bygone era, where the land tells tales of early settlers and their interactions with this rugged landscape. Our interpretive hike will weave together stories of the past with the natural beauty of the present, offering a unique glimpse into the area’s rich history. Please remember to wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes, bring plenty of water, and keep well-behaved pets on a leash.
For those participating in the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge (Nov. 1-Feb. 8), this hike is a great way to work towards your goal! For more information about the challenge, visit https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/things-to-do/activity/100-miles-in-100-days-challenge
