Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: New Moon Hike
Ranger Jacque leads the way on this night hike, sure to please the senses as you take in the shadowy cover of darkness, mysterious sounds, and creatures of the night.
Discover the mystery and intrigue of the desert as darkness envelops us on this new moon hike, following the famous Arizona sunset draping over the mountains. This two-mile hike starts on Blevins trail, picks up on Cat Peaks trail, and comes back on Pass Mountain trail. Terrain features include firm gravel sections of trail, sandy wash sections, and slight, gradual changes in elevation. Please wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and $7 cash per vehicle for the self-pay station. Bring small handheld flashlights; please refrain from using headlamps. No pets please. This program is weather-dependent; please check our website for cancellations before attending.

MEETING LOCATION: Trailhead staging area in front of the restrooms.
Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at 602-506-2930 ext. 4 with your name, phone number, and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 9/30/24.
