Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: National Take a Hike Day Hike!

Join Ranger Olivia on National Take a Hike Day for a hike that will explore the beautiful environment around us.

This hike will be about 2 miles long on mostly flat terrain with occasionally uneven surfaces. This easy rated hike also comes with beautiful views of our conservation area, and the possibility of seeing some wildlife! Please wear close-toed shoes and bring plenty of water. There will be restrooms at the trailhead.

National Take a Hike Day is celebrated each year on November 17 in recognition of the National Trails System Act of 1968. This Act designated a series of scenic, historic and recreation trails in both backcountry and urban areas in an effort to provide outdoor opportunities for the public. Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department encourages you to connect with nature on a ranger-led hike, on this day or any day, to explore and learn about our beautiful Sonoran Desert. To ensure everyone can enjoy this nationally recognized day, the regular day-use entry fee for all of Maricopa County’s regional parks will be waived on November 17.

For those participating in the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge (Nov. 1-Feb. 8), this hike is a great way to work towards your goal! For more information about the challenge, visithttps://www.maricopacountyparks.net/things-to-do/activity/100-miles-in-100-days-challenge/
