Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Morning Meander
Let’s see what sorts of wildlife we can spot. Birds should be active at this time and there’s not a bad chance for lizards and small animals too. Binoculars will make things easier, but a magnifying glass will help you find bugs and spiders which can be just as interesting! The route starts on a short portion of Pemberton Trail to connect onto Tortoise Trail for an out-and-back walk totaling 2 miles. The terrain is mostly level but there are a few spots that are uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Trailhead.
