Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Moonlight Hike
Join Ranger Kevin for an approximately 1.8-mile loop on the Black Rock Trail. Trail is easy, with little elevation change. We’ll enjoy the beauty of a quiet outdoor evening, walking through a desert landscape silvered by the moon and stars (weather permitting, of course). We won’t be setting any speed records here; this hike is all about taking our time and appreciating the natural world. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water, along with flashlights and/or UV lights (we may be able to find some scorpions out and about). We’ll meet at the Area 4 parking lot (near the restrooms). NO pets, please.
Note: Hike will only be cancelled in the event of active storms or poor trail conditions; we will not cancel for cloudy conditions.
Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the White Tank Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 5. Please be sure you are registering for the Moonlight hike. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 3/5/23.
