Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Master Gardeners Series – Starter Gardens

Learn desert gardening basics with San Tan Valley Master Gardeners.

If you are new to the area or taking up gardening for the first time be sure to join the San Tan Valley Master Gardeners for a drop-in discussion on starter garden options for our Low Desert environment. Learn about different garden types, placement within your yard, soil preparation, planting tips and more!

This program will be set up at the main entrance trailhead so stop by before or after your hike. No registration required.

  • Physical distancing. Observe the CDC’s minimum recommended physical distancing of six (6) feet from others at all times. Share the trail and warn other trail users of your presence as you pass.
  • Personal hygiene. Follow the CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to visiting parks or trails.
  • Other. Do not use parks or trails if you are exhibiting symptoms. If you sneeze while recreating on a trail, please sneeze into your elbow to avoid the spread of germs.
