Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Homeschool Happenings: Archaeology and the Hohokam

Join Ranger Nikki to explore how archaeologists search for and study ancient objects that were left behind by humans to learn about their activities and ways of life.

How did the prehistoric Hohokam cultures survive in the desert and what kind of clues did they leave behind to help us learn about them? What will future archaeologists learn about us hundreds of years from now? Wear closed-toe shoes and bring water and a hat for a short walk outside. Meet inside the Nature Center.

Limit 20 participating students. Registration required by calling the Estrella Nature Center at 602-506-2930 x6 with your name, phone number and number of participating students. Registration deadline: Tuesday, February 14.
