Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Full Moon Hike

Ranger Jacque leads the way on this night hike, sure to please the senses as you take in the majestic moon, mysterious sounds, and creatures of the night.

Discover the magic and majesty of the full moon rising over the desert landscape, following the famous Arizona sunset draping over the mountains. This ~2 mile out-and-back hike follows Quail trail, to Saddle trail, to the viewpoint on Baseline trail. Expect elevation gain on the latter, rated moderate in difficulty. Please wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and cash for the self-pay station. Small hand-held flashlights are OK; please refrain from using headlamps.

Please note: Summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The MC Parks website is the best resource for verifying the program’s current status, so please check the program listing prior to departing for your scheduled program.
