Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Full Moon Hike
Join Ranger Kevin for an evening hike under the moon and stars.
Come watch the full moon rise over the Mazatzal mountains. We’ll climb the short (.5 mile) Hilltop trail for a perfect view of the rising moon (weather permitting). Once we’ve had our fill of that, we’ll head out onto the Tortoise trail for a roughly two-mile jaunt, enjoying the beauty of a desert landscape silvered by the moon and stars. Trails are easy-moderate, so expect some loose rock, uneven terrain and elevation change. Please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and a flashlight. Restrooms are available near the trailhead. NO pets, please.
MEETING LOCATION: Trailhead Staging Area/Hilltop trailhead (southeast corner of parking lot)
Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 3. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 1/11/25.
