Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Fitness Hike

Join Ranger Jacque for an invigorating hike featuring panoramic mountain views.

Up for a challenging 8.3 mile trek but don’t want to go alone? Join Ranger Jacque for a scenic morning fitness hike through the Estrella foothills. This hike will cover approximately 8.3 miles, making a loop on the Gila, Baseline, Toothaker, and Coldwater trails. The route is rated moderate-difficult due to sections of uneven, hilly, and rocky terrain, with moderate-fairly steep inclines throughout the trek. Please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and bring plenty of water, sun protection, and snacks. If you have difficulty with stability on loose or uneven surfaces, trekking poles are helpful. A portable restroom only is available at the Gila Trailhead where we will meet.

For those participating in the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge, this is a great way to log miles toward your goal! The challenge runs from Nov. 1–Feb. 8.
