Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Fitness Hike – 100 Miles in 100 Days

Join Ranger Kevin for a challenging, approximately 8.3-mile hike on the magnificent Mesquite, Ford Canyon, and Willow Canyon trails.

We’ll keep an eye out for morning critters as we go.

This is a great way to knock some serious miles off your 100-miles-in-100-days goal on a Ranger-led hike, but you’re welcome to join even if you’re not participating in that program. Bonus: maybe meet some others just as passionate about hiking as you are. Trail conditions are rated moderate to difficult, so expect a considerable amount of loose rock, uneven terrain and elevation change. This is not a hike for inexperienced or beginning hikers, but perfect for seasoned hikers. Please bring plenty of water (at least three liters recommended) and snacks, and wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear. Proper clothing (layers), sunscreen, and hat are strongly recommended. Trekking poles may be useful. It is also a good idea to leave some extra water in your vehicle for your return. Restrooms are available at the trailhead. NO pets, please.

MEETING LOCATION: Area 7 parking lot
Limit 10 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 5 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 12/26/23.
