Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Discovery Station – World Snake Day
In honor of upcoming World Snake Day, we are hosting this discovery station inside Lake Pleasant’s Discovery Center featuring some live snakes from the Sonoran Desert region and information about how to coexist with snakes and other reptiles around us. You may get the chance to even touch one of our non-venomous snakes! Snakes, like many other animals, are often misunderstood and have earned unfair reputations by centuries of misinformation, when we need not fear them as much as we do. We hope that you will visit with an open mind and come away from this program with an appreciation for the existence of snakes around us. You just may find them to be beautiful or even cute!
