Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Discovery Station – Cactus Corner

Curious about cacti? Come to Jacque’s ranger table with your questions; find answers, displays, and visual identification tips.

Cacti are curious plants, known for their dangerous defenses and iconic stature in the Sonoran Desert. Yet they are more than survivors of intense heat and drought, providing real estate to desert dwellers, boasting inherent medicinal value, and offering food and furnishings even today. Come learn how they manage to do it all in the natural landscape they call home. This is a come and go as you please station; registration is not needed and restrooms are available.
