Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Desert Ecosystems Hike
Ranger Shaun is out to explore the smaller ecosystems that make up the Sonoran Desert. This time, he’s found himself in a riparian corridor. Come along to see exactly what that means! We’ll be exploring the Metate trail as it wanders along the riverbank, crossing the river a couple times then heads back along a part of the San Tan trail. Overall, the trip will cover just over 2 miles. Sunscreen and plenty of water, perhaps even a snack, are recommended. No pets please. Port-apotty style restrooms will be available near the trail head, but there is no water available in the park, please come prepared.
MEETING LOCATION: The shaded picnic tables near the restrooms
