
Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Desert Discovery Day
Desert Foothills Land Trust presents the 11th annual Desert Discovery Day: a free, family-friendly, fun-filled day of adventure and educational activities in a natural desert setting. Discover the Sonoran Desert, learn about all its dwellers, past and present, and interact with native wildlife. Stations will be set up along the Dragonfly Trail at Jewel of the Creek Preserve/Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area with representatives from the following event partners:

- Maricopa County Parks/Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
- Desert Awareness Committee/Foothills Community Foundation
- Town of Cave Creek
- Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center
- Wild at Heart

- Desert Foothills Family YMCA.
This year’s event sponsor is the Kiwanis Club of Carefree. Parking will be available at the Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area’s trailhead parking, with portapotties nearby. Please bring your own water and snacks, wear sturdy footwear, dress in layers, and wear protective clothing or sunscreen.
