Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Desert 101 Hike

Learn all about the Sonoran Desert on this guided hike with Ranger Eric.

Join Ranger Eric for a guided hike to learn all about the plants, animals, and ecology of the Sonoran Desert! We will hike about 3 miles roundtrip on the Wind Cave Trail, up and back from the geologic feature of the same name, and along the way we will have great views of the surrounding mountains and the Valley. The trail is rated as difficult, with frequently rocky and uneven ground. Please dress in layers, wear protective clothing and/or sunscreen, wear sturdy footwear, and carry ample water, electrolytes, and snacks for yourself. Restrooms are available at the trailhead.

For those of you participating in the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge, this is a great way to work towards your goal! The challenge runs from Nov.1-Feb. 8.
