Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Desert 101 Hike
Learn about the adaptations and life cycles of plants and animals of our Sonoran Desert on an easy hike with Ranger Nikki. The route follows Pemberton Trail south to Pemberton Pond for an out-and-back hike of 2 to 2.5 miles. The terrain varies from level and smooth to uneven with small rocks underfoot. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, snacks and plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the trailhead.
