Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Creatures of the Night Walk

Join Ranger Nikki on an evening stroll to search for a variety of nocturnal critters.

Ranger Nikki will lead you on an evening walk to seek out bats, owls, tarantulas, and other nocturnal critters, including our warm-weather rock stars bark, striped-tail and giant hairy scorpions. The route follows Moonlight Trail and the Service Road for 2.5 miles in total. The terrain is rated moderate and ranges from smooth and flat to uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. Bring your blacklight and a regular flashlight. No pets, please. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Trailhead. Please bring $7 exact cash for the self-pay station or your annual pass to display on your vehicle.
