Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Creatures of the Night Hike
Amble for an evening walk and talk with Ranger Shaun along the Merkle Loop Trail, a 1-mile barrier free trail just perfect for an evening stroll! While we watch the sun set and the temperature fall, we’ll be able to see and hear the desert come to life. Time allowing, we can take a second loop around the trail to search for scorpions using blacklights and maybe even spot tarantulas or bats! Be sure to bring plenty of water, closed toed shoes, and a flashlight. Restrooms will be available at the trailhead. Blacklights encouraged, NO PETS. Also include availability of restroom & water, recommended items to wear/bring, NO pets allowed, etc.
