Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Creatures of the Night Hike

Join Ranger Kevin for a family-friendly evening of fun and adventure as we set off in search of desert wildlife.

We’ll be taking an approximately 3-mile evening hike amidst the scenic beauty of the North trail. As we go, we’ll be looking out for all kinds of evening-active critters, from skunks to scorpions, spiders, snakes, javelina, coyote, deer, owls and more! The trail is rated easy with very little loose rock, uneven surfaces and elevation change. Please bring water and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Bring flashlights; black UV lights are optional. NO pets, please.

Please note: Summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The Maricopa County Parks website is the best resource for verifying the program’s current status, so please check the program listing prior to departing for your scheduled program.

MEETING LOCATION: North trailhead

Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 3 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 8/6/24.
