Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Creatures of the Night

Now that you’ve got some shiny new apps, come with Ranger Shaun and try them out!
Spring is here, the temperatures are creeping back up and critters are coming back out. If you made it to Ranger Shaun’s earlier workshop, you may have some apps to try out, if not no worries! You can still pick them up at the beginning of the hike if you want! Either way, we’re going to be headed up the always lovely, easy rated waterfall trail. Roughly 2-miles there and back, we’ll be looking for critters in the dark, including scorpions! As always, remember temps can drop quickly after dark in the desert, so jackets are recommended, as are flashlights. Blacklights are appreciated if you have one, though Ranger Shaun should have some available to borrow. Closed toed shoes are required. While children are encouraged, young children may be uncomfortable in the dark or with the possibly low temperatures, so please use caution when choosing to bring them along. Water and restrooms will be available at the trailhead/parking lot area. NO pets, please.

MEETING LOCATION: Waterfall trailhead
