Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Clay Mine Hike and Tour

Ready for a rare glimpse inside a real Arizona mine? We’ll be hiking roughly 1.8-miles round-trip to the Clay Mine, where an enterprising woman by the name of Leila P. Irish made a fortune. But it wasn’t gold, silver or copper that made her rich. Please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and bring water. Hats and sunscreen are highly recommended. Restrooms are available at the Nature Center. NO pets, please.

MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center
