Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Caminata Nocturna / Night Hike

Celebrate this Latino Conservation Week with two bilingual programs at Lake Pleasant Regional Park- one indoors at the Discovery Center, and a nighttime hike meeting at Cottonwood Day Use (north entry).

REUNIRSE: Cottonwood Day Use, Norte del parque principal

No se requiere registración.

Night Hike: Enjoy both the Arizona sunset as it gives way to the moonlit darkness on this beautiful evening hike. The trail is 3 miles (4.8 km) with rocky terrain, and a 400 foot (122m) elevation gain, featuring a lookout point at the peak. This ranger-led hike with interpretive stops along the way to learn about and enjoy our desert surroundings. Bring study shoes, water, and a flashlight (no headlamps please). No dogs please. We meet on north side of Lake Pleasant, not at the main entry. To get there, take Castle Hot Springs Road north until the road ends; turn right to the ranger booth. Entry is $7 per vehicle, or an annual pass, or your same day receipt. Follow the main road into the park, and park at Cottonwood Day Use on the right. We will meet there by the bathrooms.

MEETING LOCATION: Cottonwood Day Use, North of main park

No registration required.

Please note: Summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The MC Parks website is the best resource for verifying the program’s current status, so please check the program listing prior to departing for your scheduled program.
