Maricopa Audubon Society: Gila River Indian Community Winter Bird Count

Started in 1998, the Winter Bird Count promotes cultural and environmental  awareness within the Community.

Over 80 local and wintering bird species call the Community’s environment home.  The much anticipated cultural celebration after the count has been suspended due to COVID. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your birding knowledge, from the youth to the tribal elders. Field information gathered is  used in understanding bird population trends and habitat usage over time.

  • Audience: Teen, Adult
  • Genre: Field Sciences
  • Type: Workshop

The event is finished.
