SUMMARY:iD Tech: C# Coding and Game Development with Unity
DESCRIPTION:Unity is the game engine trusted by developers. Nearly half of all console and PC games are made in Unity\, including chart-topping titles like Hollow Knight: Silksong and Fall Guys. \nAs a game programmer\, you’ll develop essential coding skills in Unity with C#. Write and integrate your own C# scripts to program and build a game. You’ll code core mechanics like player movement and item collection\, and design a level for your players to explore—from spelunking an ancient temple and diving across traps to unlocking a hidden treasure room! Refine your scripts\, then publish your game online to share with your friends. Launch your programming career here with Unity! \n  \nAges 13 – 17 \nJune 15 – 10 \n

DESCRIPTION:BattleBots® combines the craftsmanship of engineering with the high-octane excitement of a robotics championship. You’ll customize\, build\, and wire a base with your teammates\, using the VEX Robotics Design System for your bot. Devise custom attachments like a claw arm\, battering ram\, or kill switch to conquer the arena. Then\, program your robot with VEX C++ to tackle a gauntlet of challenges such as racing\, obstacle courses\, and capture the flag. Optimize your bot’s hardware and software between each competition to ensure maximum chance of domination. Grab your goggles and get ready for the ultimate showdown. “Let the bot battle begin!” \nPrerequisite: Ability to work in a team. Each student will be provided with an individual computer and will share robotics equipment.\n\n\n\nAges 13 – 17\nJune 15 – 19

SUMMARY:Nerding: Sphero - Robotics & Programming
DESCRIPTION:Code it. Race it. Roll into robotics. In this high-energy\, delightfully nerdy class\, students will use Sphero robots to explore coding\, engineering\, and problem-solving through fast-paced\, hands-on challenges. Using block-based programming\, they will control speed\, direction\, colors\, and sounds as they send their robots through mazes\, obstacle courses\, precision missions\, and creative builds that feel part robotics lab\, part arcade\, and part science experiment. \nAs their skills level up\, students will tackle increasingly awesome projects like maze competitions\, robo-car washes\, and even a rubber ducky chariot engineered for a giant gym race. Along the way\, they will learn coding fundamentals\, sequencing\, troubleshooting\, control\, and design strategy while experimenting\, testing\, adjusting\, and trying again like real robotics engineers. This class is perfect for kids who love to tinker\, race\, build\, and figure out how things work\, especially if they think robots should be both smart and ridiculously fun. \n  \nGrades 4 – 7 \nJune 15 – June 19

SUMMARY:Nerding: Kawaii Art Mart - Pop-Up Shop (Grades 1 - 3)
DESCRIPTION:This is a NEW CLASS\, so we are working on photos\, but your teacher\, Mrs. Warwick (art teacher extraordinaire) is in the photos. Just look at her! You know this class will be delightful! Oh\, and FYI: BOYS love this class too! \nInspired by the kawaii art movement and the Pop Mart blind box craze\, this class is a week-long creative adventure where students design\, craft\, and curate their own collection of cute trinkets\, wearables\, and collectibles. The big project: each student builds their own DIY claw machine. \nThroughout the week\, kids fill their machines with handmade items like clay figures\, shrinky dink keychains\, beaded bracelets\, and more. The class culminates in a pop-up shop experience with student-designed store signage\, decorated shopping bags with custom stamps\, button name tags\, and more. \nOn showcase day\, parents receive play money to ‘shop’ at the kids’ stores and try the claw machines! Every project ties back to a real art form or design concept\, from Japanese kawaii culture to iconography\, stamp-making\, and basic entrepreneurship. \n  \nGrades 1 – 3 \nJune 15 – June 19

SUMMARY:Nerding: Robotics
DESCRIPTION:In this super fun class\, we’ll play with different kinds of robots. We have the lil’ Ozobots\, who can follow lines and do cool tricks when they drive over different colors. Then there’s the speedy Indi robots\, who zip around as they drive over special color tiles. And let’s not forget about Dash\, the robot you can program using block coding with an iPad! \nBut that’s not all! We’ll also build our very own robots called ‘BrushBots.’ They’re made from a small motor\, battery\, and a toothbrush. Wiggly BrushBots love to run around and will NOT listen to any directions you give them! But guess what? You get to take your BrushBot home with you! \nEvery day\, we’ll have new challenges and projects to work on. You’ll get to solve puzzles\, learn how to code\, and even create your own robot theme park! \n  \nGrades 1 – 3 \nJune 15 – June 19

SUMMARY:Nerding: Space Explorers
DESCRIPTION:Calling all young adventurers to join our NERD Astronaut Training Program for an out-of-this-world journey through the cosmos! You have a lot to learn and a lot of astronaut training to do! \nBudding space explorers will dive deep into the mysteries of the universe. From unraveling the secrets of our solar system’s formation to discovering the forces that shape galaxies\, every day will be filled with exploration and discovery. How big are the planets\, really? How far away is the moon? We will build scale models to help us understand and visualize! \nThrough hands-on experiments\, participants will learn about the forces that govern our universe\, build and launch rockets into the stratosphere\, create their own comet\, and even simulate the landing of a Mars rover on the red planet’s surface (EGG DROP)! The wonders of space await… \nGrades 1 – 3 \nJune 15 – June 19

SUMMARY:Nerding: 3D Printing & Design with TinkerCAD (Beginning to Intermediate)
DESCRIPTION:3D Printing is Nerding’s all time most popular class! Nerds love to take this class over and over\, so we are now regularly changing projects to keep things fresh and challenging for returning nerds. Also\, we have 6 brand new printers that are literally 4x faster! \nIn this fun hands-on class\, nerds will craft 3D models using intuitive CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software tailored for kids. From concept to creation\, they’ll master the printing process\, witnessing their designs materialize layer by layer before their eyes\, and proudly take home their masterpiece. \nBut it’s not just about crafting cool gadgets — it’s about the journey of discovery. Alongside honing math and spatial reasoning skills essential for navigating the 3D design landscape\, nerds will explore the applications of 3D printing. From prosthetics enhancing lives to constructing homes and even venturing to space\, discover how this technology is shaping tomorrow’s world. \n  \nGrades 4 – 7 \nJune 15 – June 19
