Glendale Public Library: Rare Diseases – Bridging the Gap

What is a rare disease?  

Many companies now have initiatives in their toys, gaming, and marketing to help “normalize” these diseases and their accompanying disabilities.  Melinda Burnworth, Pharm.D., FASHP, FAzPA, BCPS, along with Midwestern University College of Pharmacy students, will bring some examples, discuss how to talk about disabilities with children. and explore healthcare disparities and possible solutions in the rare disease community.
