Flagstaff Festival of Science: Science Bedtime Stories – Sharuko (ON DEMAND VIDEO)
Monica Brown reads her coming of age story, Sharuko: el arqueólogo Peruano/Peruvian Archaeologist, which is a fascinating bilingual picture book biography.
Our youngest science enthusiasts will enjoy this true tale, as they wind down to sleep. Growing up in the late 1800’s, Julio Tello, an Indigenous boy, spent time exploring in the foothills of the Peruvian Andes. His bravery earned him the boyhood nickname Sharuko, which means “brave” in Quechua, the Native language of Peruvians. Science Bedtime Stories are sponsored by Brightside Bookstore.
The code for the Science Bedtime Stories clue in the scavenger hunt is “sharuko”.
