Deset Botanical Garden: Cyanotype Photography with Flora and Fauna of the Garden
Saturday, January 18, 9-11 a.m.
Learn all about the historical Cyanotype process, creating a handful of Southwest flora and fauna impressions on pre-coated paper. This camera-less technique involves laying objects on paper coated with a solution of iron salts before exposing it to UV light, and washing with water to create stunning white and Prussian blue images of Southwest specimens, just as the botanist Anna Atkins did 175 years ago. Instructed by Ryan Parra. Garden admission included.
