City of Sierra Vista: Hummingbird Hunt
Sierra Vista is the Hummingbird Capital of Arizona, so what better place can there be to hunt for hummingbirds?
The day trip is led by professional bird guide Kristy Gallo and is a great introductory trip for beginners. The trip will start with participants boarding a van from the Ethel H. Berger Center and riding to locations like Ash Canyon Sanctuary, Ramsey Canyon, and other sites that interesting hummers have been seen. While at sites, participants will walk easy trails for short distances and sit quietly at times to observe the birds in their natural habitat and at designated feeder stations. This is a birding and wildlife viewing activity, so it is important participants bring binoculars to fully experience it and avoid disappointment.
Water, snacks, and a sack lunch will be provided for this tour. Please indicate your choice of turkey or ham sandwich at the time of registration.
This trip is a joint venture between the City of Sierra Vista and Southwest Wings Birding and Nature Festival. Register at WebTrac.SierraVistaAZ.gov. For more information, call (520) 417-6980.
