Chandler Public Library: Grab & Go – Origami Paper Cranes
Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, and learn how to make origami paper cranes!
Cranes in groups of 1,000 are called senbazuru, and are traditionally said to give a chance for a wish or aid in recovery. Paper cranes are historically strung on string and in various colors to make for a brilliant display.
The Chandler Public library will be donating 1000 paper cranes to an organization that presents senbazuru to individuals with cancer. If you would like to donate your origami cranes, you can drop them off to your local Chandler library branch to add to collection for donation. Paper cranes will be collected until May 18th, 2023.
