DESCRIPTION:In this super fun class\, we’ll play with different kinds of robots. We have the lil’ Ozobots\, who can follow lines and do cool tricks when they drive over different colors. Then there’s the speedy Indi robots\, who zip around as they drive over special color tiles. And let’s not forget about Dash\, the robot you can program using block coding with an iPad! \nBut that’s not all! We’ll also build our very own robots called ‘BrushBots.’ They’re made from a small motor\, battery\, and a toothbrush. Wiggly BrushBots love to run around and will NOT listen to any directions you give them! But guess what? You get to take your BrushBot home with you! \nEvery day\, we’ll have new challenges and projects to work on. You’ll get to solve puzzles\, learn how to code\, and even create your own robot theme park! \n  \nGrades 1 – 3 \nJune 22 – June 26

SUMMARY:Nerding: Drone Coding
DESCRIPTION:BEHAVIOR NOTE: This class is incredibly fun\, but drones are not chaos-powered toys. Students must stay calm\, follow directions immediately\, and treat the equipment\, instructors\, and each other with respect at all times. Unsafe\, reckless\, or overly silly behavior means a student will be grounded and will sit out of flying activities until they are ready to rejoin safely. \nCode it. Fly it. Land it. In this exciting hands-on drone class\, students will learn to pilot and program real codable drones through high-energy\, mission-based challenges. Using block-based coding\, they will control flight paths\, altitude\, speed\, turns\, and precision maneuvers while taking on scenarios inspired by real-world drone applications like search and rescue\, scientific exploration\, mapping\, and disaster response. \nAs students build their skills\, they will learn how coding and flight work together to solve problems\, complete objectives\, and improve accuracy. They will practice sequencing\, troubleshooting\, spatial awareness\, and control techniques while testing programs\, adjusting flight patterns\, and improving performance with each mission. Along the way\, they will discover tips and strategies for smoother takeoffs\, more precise landings\, better navigation\, and stronger mission planning. \nThis class is perfect for students who love technology\, robotics\, coding\, and hands-on challenges. By the end\, they will have a stronger understanding of drone operation\, block-based programming\, and real-world STEM applications\, along with the confidence to code\, fly\, and problem-solve like a drone pilot and engineer. \n  \nGrades 4 – 7 \nJune 22 – June 26

SUMMARY:Nerding: Drone Coding - Copy

SUMMARY:Nerding: Minecraft - Build\, Design & Code
DESCRIPTION:Think like an architect\, build like an engineer\, and create like a game designer. In this advanced Minecraft class\, older students will work in a class-only private realm to explore how real-world architecture\, design\, and engineering come together inside the game. They will study architectural styles and famous structures\, then use those ideas to plan and build impressive creations of their own while learning how to make builds feel larger\, smarter\, and more realistic. \nStudents will practice advanced building techniques such as scale\, depth\, texture\, block palettes\, landscaping\, lighting\, and interior design\, along with tips and tricks that help builds look polished and professional. They will also explore redstone circuits\, automation\, hidden features\, and coding concepts that bring their worlds to life. As they design\, test\, and problem-solve\, students will build skills they can use in any Minecraft world\, from creating epic structures to engineering interactive systems with confidence and creativity. \nThis class is perfect for kids who already love Minecraft and are ready to take their skills to the next level through bigger ideas\, better techniques\, and more intentional building. \n  \nGrades 4 – 7 \nJune 22 – June 26

SUMMARY:Nerding: Sphero - Robotics & Programming
DESCRIPTION:Code it. Race it. Roll into robotics. In this high-energy\, delightfully nerdy class\, students will use Sphero robots to explore coding\, engineering\, and problem-solving through fast-paced\, hands-on challenges. Using block-based programming\, they will control speed\, direction\, colors\, and sounds as they send their robots through mazes\, obstacle courses\, precision missions\, and creative builds that feel part robotics lab\, part arcade\, and part science experiment. \nAs their skills level up\, students will tackle increasingly awesome projects like maze competitions\, robo-car washes\, and even a rubber ducky chariot engineered for a giant gym race. Along the way\, they will learn coding fundamentals\, sequencing\, troubleshooting\, control\, and design strategy while experimenting\, testing\, adjusting\, and trying again like real robotics engineers. This class is perfect for kids who love to tinker\, race\, build\, and figure out how things work\, especially if they think robots should be both smart and ridiculously fun. \n  \nGrades 4 – 7 \nJune 22 – June 26

SUMMARY:Nerding: Ai App Makers - Context Engineers
DESCRIPTION:Students learn what AI is\, how it works\, and how to use it effectively. The class frames AI as a superpower tool — something to wield skillfully\, not fear or blindly trust. \nStudents explore the full AI landscape including chatbots\, image generation\, music creation\, video\, AI agents\, and coding. They learn context engineering (the skill that replaced prompt engineering in 2026) through hands-on practice\, discovering that what information you give AI matters more than how you phrase the question. They compare different AI models side-by-side\, explore AI agents that take multi-step actions\, and discuss real-world impacts including jobs\, ethics\, recommendation algorithms\, deepfakes\, and privacy. \nThe class culminates in a two-part final project: (1) A presentation about what they learned\, and (2) a custom web app they designed\, built with AI assistance\, and deployed live. On Friday showcase day\, parents experience AI firsthand and watch their kids demo real\, working projects. \n  \nGrades 6 – 9 \nJune 22 – June 26
