SUMMARY:Nerding: Minecraft - Build\, Design & Code
DESCRIPTION:Think like an architect\, build like an engineer\, and create like a game designer. In this advanced Minecraft class\, older students will work in a class-only private realm to explore how real-world architecture\, design\, and engineering come together inside the game. They will study architectural styles and famous structures\, then use those ideas to plan and build impressive creations of their own while learning how to make builds feel larger\, smarter\, and more realistic. \nStudents will practice advanced building techniques such as scale\, depth\, texture\, block palettes\, landscaping\, lighting\, and interior design\, along with tips and tricks that help builds look polished and professional. They will also explore redstone circuits\, automation\, hidden features\, and coding concepts that bring their worlds to life. As they design\, test\, and problem-solve\, students will build skills they can use in any Minecraft world\, from creating epic structures to engineering interactive systems with confidence and creativity. \nThis class is perfect for kids who already love Minecraft and are ready to take their skills to the next level through bigger ideas\, better techniques\, and more intentional building. \n  \nGrades 4 – 7 \nJune 1 – 5

DESCRIPTION:BattleBots® combines the craftsmanship of engineering with the high-octane excitement of a robotics championship. You’ll customize\, build\, and wire a base with your teammates\, using the VEX Robotics Design System for your bot. Devise custom attachments like a claw arm\, battering ram\, or kill switch to conquer the arena. Then\, program your robot with VEX C++ to tackle a gauntlet of challenges such as racing\, obstacle courses\, and capture the flag. Optimize your bot’s hardware and software between each competition to ensure maximum chance of domination. Grab your goggles and get ready for the ultimate showdown. “Let the bot battle begin!” \nPrerequisite: Ability to work in a team. Each student will be provided with an individual computer and will share robotics equipment.\n\n\n\nAges 13 – 17\nJune 8 – 12

SUMMARY:iD Tech: 3D Printing & Modeling with Blender
DESCRIPTION:3D printing technology has paved the way for countless inventions—from advanced stop-motion puppets in Coraline to custom prosthetic limbs for athletes. \nDive deep into Blender\, a powerful 3D modeling and animation software used by industry creatives. You’ll invent and model your own designs\, like functional desk organizers or imaginative characters. Then\, transform them into tactile prints! Create keychains\, fidget toys\, collectible pets\, or build an articulated reptile with movable parts. Plug in your 3D models and watch them come to life layer by layer on the print bed! Once they’ve cooled off\, add the final touches with 3D printing tools\, sandpaper\, and colorful paint markers. At the end of the week\, you’ll take home your entire collection of 3D prints. \n  \nAges 13 – 17 \nJune 8 – 12 \n
